School attendance boundaries determine which school a child attends based on where they live. In Chicago, many boundaries run along highways and rail lines — physical barriers that were often routed through Black neighborhoods in the mid-20th century.

The Boundary Segregation Index (BSI) measures the demographic gap between schools on either side of a shared boundary line. Click any boundary to compare the two schools.
